All of our prints are printed original scale given to us by the designer, unless otherwise noted. This is typically done at a 25mm-32mm (typically 28mm) scale. Please use the photos for scale reference. Products are shown an 1x1 grid. We do offer scale adjustments on most models.
Not all of our prints are assembled. Some of our prints require an extra fee to assemble and some of them cannot be shipped in one piece. This will be noted on the product page.
Print lines are common among FDM 3D Printing. We do our best to show exactly what you will receive in our product photos. Many times you may see comments from people about our lines. We are able to increase the print quality on nearly ALL of our models if you are interested in a higher quality than what is shown. Most miniatures can be printed in Resin and most any FDM print can be upgraded for a higher cost.
Basically when a 3D Printer prints, it squeezes out plastic in strings at a high temp that melts the layers to each other. The smaller the "layer height" the longer and more filament that a print will take. We have found that our prints are somewhere in the middle -- and our reviews can tell you what people think!
If you believe your item has an excessive amount of print lines, please contact us for a replacement because Crit Happens!
The plastic that we use for our terrain and some miniatures is made from a PLA plastic for an FDM printer.
Things that may hurt PLA:
Things that may hurt Resin:
No. 3D Printed terrain and miniatures are not the same as mass produced miniatures. There will be minimal print lines on our FDM prints and our resin prints may have "rough spots". If you are particularly picky, 3D Prints may not be for you. We do our best to show you exactly what you will receive in the product images.
In a nutshell, Resin is higher quality and finer detail, but the process to clean up the resin and finalize a DLP print is extensive, which causes the detail an value to be higher. PLA prints are durable, cheap to produce and can be done at a larger scale.
We use our Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printer for our larger prints. This is the most common 3D printer and it uses a thermoplastic filament that is heated and melted then extruded (one layer at a time) to create a 3D Printed product.
We use our Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printers for our larger prints and many of our support free miniatures. This is the most common 3D printer and it uses a thermoplastic filament that is heated and melted then extruded (one layer at a time) to create a 3D Printed product.
A DLP (digital light processing) Printer uses liquid resin that uses photopolymerization that when it is exposed to uv light, layer by layer to form very solid layers that stack to create a 3D Printed object. We use our DLP printer to print small, fine detail prints such as miniatures. The process to clean and finalize a DLP print is extensive, which causes the detail an value to be higher.
Not all pieces light up, even though they look like they should. There are some cases in which the model has an element that lights up. This varies from each piece and will be noted in the description or are shown in the pictures. Tealights are included with items that require them.
Not all pieces move, even though they look like they should. There are some cases in which the model has movable parts. This varies from each piece and will be noted in the description or are shown in the pictures if any parts are movable.
Our ornaments are exclusive and the files are unavailable.
We do not. We can refer you to one of our designers (https://www.patreon.com/Valandar) or you can always use Hero Forge and contact us about a printing service.
We are currently trying to work on a few projects, one is creating more tile bundles. In the mean time, just let us know what you are looking for and Andy will try to come up with a plan for you.
We do not currently stock offer a lost of pre-painted options but plan to do so in the future. We currently have a fresh into college superstar trying to earn his way by painting and we do offer some of his prints on our website. If feasible - we can request for him to paint what you are interested in and list it in the store when it is completed. We also will do custom painting for $10 an hour on any of our products.
We sell the physical miniature. We do not sell the file or the stl for any of our products. You may find the information for the designer on our partner page where you can follow the link to their website.
We do not have a storefront and are not currently available in stores. We do local shows (Fredericksburg, Virginia) throughout the year and we will announce our pop up booths as they come up.
We use two different type of 3D Printers for our prints. We currently have both FDM and DLP Printers.
We use PLA (Polylactic Acid) filament. PLA is a degradable (but not biodegradable) and bioactive thermoplastic aliphatic polyester that comes from renewable resources such as corn starch. PLA comes in a wide variety of colors and styles. Note: While we can custom print with PETG, we do not print with ABS.
We currently use a resin produced in the United States. It is a little bit more firm and flexible than our previous resins. Warning: As with any miniatures, these are fragile and will break without care. Resin prints should not be confused with "army guys" like you would buy at the big box store.
